Mild Steel Machine Screw
Mild Steel Screws, Fasteners and Fixings Typically, this steel is strong, stiff and magnetic, and often finds itself in use within motors and electrical appliances – however, they exhibit poor corrosion resistance and should not be used in a corrosive environment without protective platings or coatings. Mild steel is alloyed using carbon whereas stainless steel has chromium as its alloying element. The 2 different alloys produce very different results in corrosion resistance, malleability and ease of fabrication and cost.
